Overview
Addis Ababa Restaurant is a vibrant Ethiopian restaurant based in Zurich, Switzerland, founded by Meron, an Ethiopian-born chef with years of experience in the culinary industry. After working at another Ethiopian restaurant, Meron decided to establish her own space to bring authentic Ethiopian flavors to a wider community. She envisioned not only serving food but also creating an atmosphere of culture, warmth, and togetherness. To support this vision, we developed a complete brand identity and digital presence that embodied the Ethiopian aesthetic while appealing to a Swiss audience.
Problem
The challenge was creating a brand that authentically reflected Ethiopian culture while remaining approachable and appealing to the Zurich community. Meron needed a strong identity that communicated the rich traditions of Ethiopian cuisine, hospitality, and community. In addition, she required clear, functional tools to help customers engage with the restaurant, including a professional website with reservation features and menu highlights. As well as a menu design, business cards and flyers for promotion.
Solution
We partnered with Addis Ababa Restaurant to design a brand experience that truly captured its cultural and culinary essence. Our work included:
Brand Identity: A logo, color palette, and typography inspired by Ethiopian heritage and aesthetics.
Print Design: Menu design, business cards, window print design and flyers that tied into the restaurant’s branding and enhanced its visibility offline.
Website Design: A user-friendly site showcasing the menu, restaurant details, and a built-in reservation form to make booking simple and seamless.
Through these efforts, we helped Addis Ababa Restaurant build a strong, cohesive brand that stood out in Zurich’s competitive restaurant scene—celebrating Ethiopian culture while connecting with the local community.
